St. Thomas Residential School

The St. Thomas Residential School at Bidadi which is about 35km on Bangalore Mysore highway, was started in the year 1990, is an exclusive project of the Parish, and managed directly by the parish for almost an year. For statutory requirement the school was brought under the society registered as “The Malankara Mar Thoma Educational Society” bearing No. 752/91-92, comprising exclusively the members of the parish. From the academic year 2001-02, the School has become a full-fledged high school, having education from Nursery to 10^th Standard. Initially the school was functioning in a rented building. One acre of land was purchased in the year 1999. A new building with six class rooms were constructed in 2001 and dedicated on ^4th January 2002 by the Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus, for which foundation stone was laid by MMES President, Rev. M.P. Yohanna on 11^th March 2000. Additional 13,580 Sq.ft of land was purchased adjacent to the School property in July 2004. The first floor with six class rooms was constructed and dedicated on 4^th November 2006 by Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius for which foundation stone was blessed by the MMES President Rev. K.Y. Jacob on 1^st November 2005. The Second floor with five rooms and additional three rooms along with a toilet adjacent to the staircase was built and dedicated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius on 27^th December 2008 for which foundation stone was blessed on 29^th August 2008 by the President of MMES, Rev. K.Y. Jacob.

Mr. N.K. Samuel served as the Head Master of the School from the beginning till July 1999. From November 2001 to November 2002 Mrs. Princes Franklin served as the Head Mistress and from November 2002 to till date Mr. Johnson Abraham is serving as the Head Master.

Presently school has about 500 children studying from Nursery to 10^th standard. The school was adjudged as the best School in Ramanagara Taluk.
