Sunday School

The Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam started in 1905. Our Parish Sunday School began in 1956. The Sunday School year is January-December. We follow the Sunday School Samajam curriculum in English. The classes are held between the 1st and the 2nd Worship Service on Sunday, i.e. 8.45 AM – 9.45 AM. The Annual Examination in November followed by several competitions for different age groups, e.g. singing, elocution, story telling, etc. A combined Sunday School Camp of all the Mar Thoma Churches in Bangalore is generally held during October-November by the Bangalore Centre Sunday School. As a part of Ecumenical initiative our Parish and the CSI East Parade Malayalam Congregation hold Annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) generally during April-May. Yuvajana Sakhyam

The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was established in 1933. Our Parish Yuvajana Sakhyam was formed in 1950. Members of the Parish in the age group 12-35 can join the Yuvajana Sakhyam. According to theconstitution members above the age of 35 can also join the Yuvajana Sakhyam provided provided such members do not exceed 25% of the youth group. The activities of the Yuvajana Sakhyam include Bible Study, Cottage Prayer, Outreach, Annual Parish Camp, Stage show, etc. The Yuvajana Sakhyam has periodic Praise & Worship. The Yuvajana Sakhyam of all the Mar Thoma Churches in Bangalore come together for Bangalore Centre Youth activites, e.g. Sports Meet, Sing Song Service, Work Camp, Kalamela, etc. Contact: Youth Secretary.

Young Family Fellowship

The Young Family Fellowship meets periodically at the church for bible study and discussions. They hold special seminars, picnics and family camps. Contact: Secretary.

Sevika Sanghom

The Mar Thoma Suvusesha Sevika Sanghom, the women’s wing commenced in 1919. Our Parish Sevika Sanghom began in 1955. The activities of the Sevika Sanghom include weekly Bible Study, periodic seminars and other activities. Contact: Sevika Sanghom Secretary.

Edavaka Mission

The Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelist’s Association (MTEVA) established in 1924 is the lay ministry of the church. The wing of the MTEVA in the Parish is called Edavaka Mission. The Edavaka Mission organizes the month end convention and annual convention which is generally on the evening of Thursday-Saturday and concluding on Sunday. The other activities of the Edavaka Mission include Bible study, Intercessory Prayer, Fellowship, House Visit, etc. Contact: Edavaka Mission Secretary.

Service Fellowship

The Service Fellowship of the Parish regularly organizes talks and guest lectures on a wide variety of themes, e.g. Palliative Care, etc.  Contact: Service Fellowship Secretary.

Choir

Our Parish has two worship services on most Sundays. Consequently we have two choirs each supporting one worship service on a given Sunday-Choir A and Choir B.  The choir provides the leadership in organizing the Christmas Carol Service, Easter program and special programs. Our choir has been acclaimed widely for environment friendly Christmas decorations. The Choir-A provides leadership for thematic matin service in English at 10 AM on every 2nd Sunday of the month. The choirs meets every Saturday evening for voice training and practices.
