Independence Day Service. A special service was held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 to celebrate independence.

Admiral O. S. Dawson, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, former chief of naval staff and High Commissioner to New Zealand was the chief guest. The Brass Band of the Corps of Military Police accompanied the choir during the service. The family members of martyrs who laid down their lives for the country were honoured.
